We need to break out of the delusion of apparently linear acceleration of human material and numerical progress to a world view in which everything is contained by cycles, waves and pulses that flow between polarities of great stability and intense change, all nested one within the other.
This cyclical view of time is not some new idea, but simply a rediscovery of ways of understanding that are embedded in human cultural history and our collective unconscious.’

Der Entwurf für das Gentechnik-Gesetz stößt auf heftige Kritik. Er soll am 24. Januar - also übermorgen - im Bundestag verabschiedet werden. Am Dienstag den 15.1.08 wurde beim Deutschen Bundestag eine öffentliche Petition zu diesem Thema online gestellt: Eine ideale Möglichkeit, dem deutschen Bundestag durch Mitzeichnung seine Meinung kund zu tun!

Ab dem 22. Februar bis 29. März im Kunstverein Tiergarten, Berlin und vom 28. Februar bis 24. März im Wiener Quartier 21 ist die aktuelle Ausstellung “ZOG” der Subervsions-Künstlergruppe “Surrend” zu sehen. Die dänischen Künstler sind in der Vergangenheit vermehrt durch geschickte Unterwanderung der Medien (Meist fake Anzeigen und Plakate) international (von Burma, Iran, über Mecklenburg bis hin zu den Faröern) aufgefallen, welche sogar schon zum diplomatischem Eklat führten. Die Ziele ihrer satirschen Aktionen lassen sich grob mit Irritation und Provokation beschreiben und beleuchten die Meinungsfreiheit verschiedener Gesellschaften. Aber nicht nur die Rezipienten, sondern auch die Absender, die Redaktionen der Verläge und Sender, trifft es deutlich, welche sich ja bereitwillig Falschmeldungen und fake Anzeigen unterjubeln lassen und somit scheinbar jegliche Sorgfaltspflicht vermissen lassen.

Interessante Überlegung übrigens, dass sich diese klassischen Prinzipien des De-Brandings auch auf Staaten und Religionen übertragen lassen, was natürlich die Frage impliziert, wieviel sich Staaten und Religionen von den Markenführern abschauen mögen? Und wie sieht das womöglich umgedreht aus?

Anyway - jedenfalls: “Don’t believe in the media!”

Das für seine ökologische und soziale correctness bekannte Fashionlabel American Apparel schaltete kürzlich in der NY Times eine Anzeige im journalistischem Stil, welche als Motiv einige American Apparel Angestellte zeigt, die wiederrum “illegale” Einwanderer seien. Die Ansprache richtet sich an US Politker, die endlich den positiven Einfluss der Immigranten auf die amerikanische Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft anerkennen sollen. Ganz nach dem Motto “Kein Mensch ist illegal!”

Already allowed in the US. At this moment being discussed in the EU. The EFSA (European Food Savety Authority) doesn’t see any health risks…So soon the first animal clones may be fabricated here. Of course this will be done by special corporations who then own bla,bla….and why should we worry about genetic pools, biodiversity food democracy or any form of ethics. We are the masters of nature, aren’t we…
